Yoga for the Erotic Self

A seven-week yoga series: Yoga for the Erotic Self: An exploration of erotic and sensual expression through the lens of yoga.

This stand-alone course is designed to be taken in series. Given the level of intimacy of this course and in order to create safe space with consistent voices, we ask that you commit to the whole series.

Created for:

Anyone who is curious about their intersections of sensuality and spirituality and connecting with others to explore erotic intimacy, pleasure, and desire in ritual within a deeply intentional and nurtured community setting.

For this next iteration, there will be two options. We are inviting couples, singles, and all genders to join for one group, as well as including an option for a femme-only group.

Spring 2025 Course Dates:

  • All Women - Sundays from April 13th - May 25th from 11am to 1pm

  • Couples, Singles, and All Genders - Wednesdays from April 16th - May 28th from 7:45pm to 9:45pm

  • Both located at Dear Yoga.

What to Expect:

Seven chakras, seven weeks. Each week we will explore the energy within a distinct chakra, beginning with the root chakra and ending with the crown chakra. Each course will have a theme related to that chakra. That theme will be integrated into the teachings, meditations, journaling, and the yoga practice.

Class Format:

First Hour:

Dharma and Lessons exploring: Human sexuality and how to support this with yoga: understanding our anatomy and the science of libido, hormone balancing, orgasm, trauma, and pleasure.

Thoughtful and Deepening Journal exercises

Second Hour:

Movement and yoga asana exploring how to own your pleasure and sexuality, your embodiment, and empowerment. We’ll practice self-expression of needs, emotions, individual definitions of intimacy, and how consent feels in the body.

  • Week 1: Root Chakra: Muladhara:

    • Theme: Your Primal Energy, Stability, and Safety: “I am”

    • Dharma: Why a healthy libido matters and the extensive health benefits of having orgasms

    • Asana: The power of mula bandha

  • Week 2:  Sacral Chakra: Svadhishthana

    • Theme: Sensuality, sexuality, pleasure, creativity, sacral wisdom, sense of greater connection, and joy from others: “I feel”

    • Dharma: Our sexual anatomy and deepening our understanding with yoga

    • Asana: The power of reproductive organ health

  • Week 3: Solar Plexus Chakra: Manipura

    • Theme: Strength, personal power, determination: “I do”

    • Dharma: The power of achieving hormonal balance

    • Asana: A Mastery of Self

  • Week 4: Heart Chakra: Anahata

    • Theme: Acceptance, universal love, and compassion: “I love”

    • Dharma: Viveka; discernment of obstacles and barriers to healthy sexuality and locating trauma in the body

    • Asana: Heart Pumping and Opening

  • Week 5: Throat Chakra: Vishuddha

    • Theme: Communication, your voice, your truth, your expression: “I speak”, “I hear”

    • Dharma: Finding our erotic voice, speak the language of your desire, ask for what you want and need

    • Asana: Emboldening and expanding our voice

  • Week 6: Third Eye Chakra: Ajna

    • Theme: Intuition, intention, foresight: “I see”

    • Dharma: Create your Erotic Compass: What do you envision, dream, and desire for your Erotic Self? See it as yours to choose from.

    • Asana: Trusting intuition and a visualization of your realized Self

  • Week 7: Crown Chakra: Sahasrara

    • Theme: Knowledge, consciousness, fulfillment: “I understand”

    • Dharma: From dream to reality — your path forward to fulfilling your erotic desires.

    • Asana: Fulfilment, liberation, and getting your needs met.
